I have Philips DVDR3475/37 DVD Recorder. It says, it works with any set-top box . but I dont have set-top box:confused: and only thing I have is analog cable service from comcast. How can I make it work, what are my options.
If I purhcase RF Modulator or Digital to Analog converter, is it goint to work?

I really appreciate your reply.

thanks

The recorder doesn’t have a built-in tuner. So by “set top box”, they are referring to any device that can receive and decode the signal for whatever TV service you use. If you have cable, you will need a cable box, SAT…a SAT receiver, etc.

Your best bet, would be a cable box from your cable company.

Thanks Dogg for your reply.

If it needs only digital converter, If I connect Digital To Analog converter between my comcast cable and DVD Recorder, is it going to work ?

Please let me know.

Thanks

It has nothing to do with analog or digital. You need a “device” (referred to as a set top box) which can connect to your cable service, tune the channels, and output an audio/video signal to your recorder.
