Why? Lite-on make terrible burners. :c

Perhaps LITE-ON will begin using the Nexperia chipset in their drives as BenQ once did. I do not own a LITE-ON DVD burner, but I will watch this partnership with some interest and wait for new DVD Burners to arrive from LITE-ON and read the reviews…

What difference is it? BenQ joined with LiteOn … then Phillips (the other part of BenQ) jointed LiteOn … so now we got Liteon+BenQ+Phillips … sounds like it’s back to the beginning

BenQ is slowly dying… If they do not find a way to return to profit in more than one market soon or later they will shut down.

Benq doesn’t need to profit in more than one market if they just stop beeing in the non profitable ones.
