hi all my mother board is an msi K7N2 Delta-ILSR this has 2 sata sockets but im told these will not support a sata dvdrw im going to get a new dvd drive it seems sense to get a sata drive so when I upgrade mother board etc , so shall I get a pci sata board si 3114 controller ive read also stay away from the via chipset or just get a sata to ata converter or just get a new ide dvd drive all advice greatly appreciative

Hi,

a SiI 3114 (4 port) or 3512 (2 port) controller card is the best option. Make sure, the card is non-Raid (often advertised as SataLink) or can be flashed to non-Raid card Bios.
