PC World: DVD Burners Hit Prime Time

I don’t know what Jon L. Jacobi at PC World means about the Sony DRU-500A supporting Mt. Rainier.

Only one drive (Sony’s DRU-500A) currently ships with Mt. Rainier support built in, and its primary benefits–the ability to read discs without the aid of third-party software installed, and the ability to use defect management–won’t be available until Microsoft integrates Mt. Rainier into the next full revision of Windows. See " Drag ‘N’ Drop To CD-RW Easily" for details.

Good article. I’ve got lots of precious information.

Sony DRU-500A is the clear winner as the fastest and most flexible drive

It seems this Sony drive is the ‘best’ dvd drive in the market. Well, I don’t know much about dvd drives.

PS. Hi Ken.

PS. Hi Ken.

The Sony DRU-500 and DRU-500XL are really good in that they were the first ODD products that can write to SIX of the most popular recordable formats and not that expensive compared to DVD-RW-only or DVD+RW-only drives.

Well, welcome to CD Freaks, HJ.
