A few weeks ago i was having problems with my PC continually turning itself off. It was discovered that the CPU fan had broken clips and wasn’t holding to the motherboard, so the fan was replaced under warranty. It was working perfectly fine but has started turning itself off again. I have CPU monitoring software installed to notify me of the temperature and it doesn’t seem to go any higher than 33 degress. It leads me to believe i may have a faulty motherboard or PSU. I have noticed that just before it turns itself off, the PSU makes a sound like it’s shorting out. Any advice would be great
First to start what kind of computer do you have and what is the PS model?? Also since you replaced the fan saying the clip was broken I check to see if the connection heat sink between the CPU and Heat Sink is properly sealed?? When did you start hearing that noise? PS replacement are a releatively inexpensive replacement as without a good working PS your computer is next to worthless. How old is your system with the PS?? We just need more specs to determine what might be the cause. Also how long has your PS being doing this and how long has your computer shutting down itself been going on??
