PC stuck in rebooting cycle

Hi,

I have a PC that I have had for a while now…

I ran windows update and found that there were 4 optional hardware updates and 1 .net framework update for version 3.5

I updated all of these and then restarted the PC, then i came back the next day…FOUND THE PC WAS STILL STUCK ON THE SHUTTING DOWN SCREEN…???

i forced it off with the button and turned it back on…
it displays users, i log in, itz loading…OOPS REBOOTED…???

I know the RAM is fine cuz I started it up in safe mode with netowrking and without networking and everything went fine, me & friends used this PC like this for a while then shut it back off…

…curious I turned it back on normaly…logged on…??? REBOOTED AGAIN…

One of those drivers I updated was a graphics driver and i thnk also a sound driver… It was nVidia chipset…

Would 1 of the 4 driver updates caused this? or was it .net framework 3.5 update?

can I fix this problem in safe mode or am I stuck like this, I have ALOT of pricless files on this thing and have no way to back them up…!!!..oops…

Itz a windows XP computer and I do not know the rest…sorry…

happened right after windows update so i guess one of my 4 driver updates or .net framework 3.5 caused it…

please help,

Sarah

Have you tried system restore from safe mode?

You might give this a try:

I always only do 1 update at a time then reboot don’t do several at the same time.At least that’s my advice.
