PathPlayer mis-recognize? unplayable cell in Narnia_2

vbimport

#1

Thanks for useful and covinient program.

Recently new BadSector protection appeares in Japan.
“Narnia-2” and “Speed Racer” seem to be completely same, but PathPlayer differently recognize unplayable cell.

“Narnia-2”
Cells of main movie : cell command of each;
cell_1 : 4 if ( gprm(11) > sprm(20:Player region code) ) then { LinkCN Cell 5 }
cell_2 : 5 if ( gprm(11) <= sprm(20:Player region code) ) then { LinkCN Cell 7 }
cell_3 : 2 (SetCLnk) Set gprm(11) ^=(xor) sprm(20:Player region code) ; if ( gprm(11) > sprm(20:Player region code) ) then { LinkNextCell }
cell_4 : 6 Set gprm(11) ^=(xor) sprm(20:Player region code) ; LinkCN Cell 6
cell_5 : 3 if ( gprm(11) >= sprm(20:Player region code) ) then { LinkCN Cell 7 }

PathPlayer recognizes cell_3, 4, and 6 as unplayable cell.
But sprm(20)=2 and gprm(11)=1, so unplayable cells are cell_3, 4, 5,and 6.
I think strange, because;
if gprm(11) <= sprm(20), played cells are 1=>2=>7, it is this case.
if gprm(11) > sprm(20), played cells are 1=>5=>6=>7.
PathPlayer means that played cells are 1=>2=>5=>7, it is never gotten.

“Speed Racer”
Cells of main movie : cell command of each;
Completely same except for gprm(15) instead of gprm(11).

PathPlayer recognizes cell_3, 4, 5, and 6 as unplayable cell.
Sprm(20)=2 and gprm(15)=0, so unplayable cells are cell_3, 4, 5,and 6.
I think it right.

Cell_4 has BadSector, so there is no problem even if “Narnia-2”.
But I think there is risk if cell_5 has BadSectors.

(edit)I used ver.5.1.1.8beta.

Regards.

cell_2 is played,

I have the Canadian release of Speed Racer and it backed up fine for me with dvdfab platinum PP always enabled. As for Narnia 2 I can not tell you anything as it not released here yet but when it it I will check and see if the bad sector is the same on them as well

I have done both Speed Racer and Narina 2 with no problem.
R1 and R4.
Pathplayer always enabled.
Movie only.

I have no problem actually,too. I think it has risk.
(RipIt4Me can’t delete cell_4 of BadSectors.)
R2(Japan).
Pathplayer enable when necessary, and it works in these titles.
Full Disc.

@GJ
Thanks for your proposal.

I’ve been testing with ;
ver.5.1.2.0
ver.5.1.2.2
ver.5.2.0.0beta
ver.5.2.0.5beta
ver.5.2.0.8beta
ver.5.2.0.9beta
ver.5.2.1.0beta
It seems not to be fixed in any versions.

Hi jinjin_jp,

Do you mean this disc?

I think I’d better to get the disc to test.

And please read PM.

Hi jinjin_jp,

if gprm(11) <= sprm(20), played cells are 1=>2=>7.
if gprm(11) > sprm(20), played cells are 1=>5=>7.

Since both conditions can be true when PathPlayer is running, so both paths are valid, so cell 1,2,5,7 is playable, which means cell 3,4,6 is unplayable.

Please check it.

Fengtao

Thanks very much for the answear.
You are right.
I can confirm by PgcEdit’s TraceMode.
Gprm(11) is decided by highlighted button number just bfore replaying movie.
Generally gprm(11) is almost 1,or 2, and replayed cell_1=> 2=>7.
But when setting stream and back to main movie, gprm(11)=highlighted button number is 3, so replayed cell_1=>5=>7.
I’ve comfirmed before only fomer case, but not later case.

I misunderstand “Narnia 2” is same as “Speed Raceer”, because both have same cell command.
But gprm is always 0 in “Speed Racer”, so replayed always cell_1=> 2=>7.

I can understand clearly. Thanks very much again.

Regards.
