Patch for Meltdown and Spectre breaks Windows 7 and Windows 10 PCs with AMD processor

Owners of an AMD processor, who use Windows as their operating system, complain on Microsoft’s support forums that their system doesn’t start anymore after applying the Meltdown and Spectre patch. Even reinstalling Windows doesn’t appear to solve the issue. Both Windows 7 and Windows 10 are affected.

Meltdown and Spectre are crap anyways.
I mean, where do they suddenly come from? Beautiful 2018 new year.

Nobody wanted Meltdown and Spectre to appear out of nowhere.

The flaw existed in 1960. Why did this take closely 60 years? Gladly, it did not happen any later.

Spectre was probably known for years. Already.

Here’s the crumb of it…

I doubt alot users of those older AMD are keeping them running but have gone to Rzyen instead and if users are still using them it’s most likely limited uses or they don’t keep it up to date that caused the problem and since no can be there when the problem happned that in itself is hard to verify as well.

Is it possible, that these flaws were initially deliberate?

Intel could have wanted telemetry access.
