Found from rpc1.org that linked to the above. I don’t have the drive so do it at your own risk.

I have the same drive, and problems updating the firmware, “the target drive is not connected” am I missing something ?

Yes, you must use the correct OEM firmware.

are you sure this is not correct firmware? I tried with the ones from 121ware.com
where can I find the correct one?

Hi,
are you sure this is not correct firmware?
if it were the correct firmware, then you wouldn’t have problems with flashing.

If there is a newer firmware for your drive, then it is available from the manufacturer of your computer. Panasonic has been very effective in tying their drives to computer manufacturers.

Michael

well Panasonic is no longer supporting the drive, it was easy to go to their site and download it.
There is no computer manufacturer, the drive is standalone.

This drives doesnt exist as “standalone”, only as internal one with the model name “Panasonic SW-5583-C” single drive, SATA or as Panasonic SW-5583".

If it were a standalone, it were featured here: http://www.panasonic.net/blu-ray/

This is still an OEM drive and therefore Panasonic would give no support.
