its kinda of cool to build the pvr into the tv. Downside’s I see are most cable companies and Sat companies require a settop box to work. Alot of channels have copy protection flags, so there’s issue with an external pvr?

Also TV’s can be a longer term purchase, if they build to the bluray and hard drivers into it, it makes it hard to upgrade those compenents as time goes on?

It’s not very thin …
And it’s really just a standard 3D TV with HDD inbuilt, and Bluray inbuilt, and a huge premium for the benefit of having 3 components out of your house, when any one of them break down …

They are too expense to repair so you go and buy a BD player ad a DVR

And a new TV …
And then realise that it works out $1000 cheaper, and how you were duped into buying a stupid combo device :wink:

Or you want to upgrade your TV to a new energy efficient 80" version, and realise you need to also replace your PVR & Bluray …

I wonder what happens if the bluray player gets blacklisted …will they refund you the bluray portion of the device?
