Hi to all ,
No ideas. Update software & drivers/firmware.
Mine has no such problems.

Works fine to me.
Must be a software/driver issue.
I have some questions concerning dvd-ram:
- How fast can you burn this dvd-ram disc (in MB/s)?
- What dvd-ram drivers are you using?
- And with what file system (udf 1.5, udf 2.0, fat32) is you dvd-ram formatted?
Thanks for the picture. And what about other 2 questions?
I’ve had two MadDog/NEC 4550As. The first one wouldn’t write to DVD-RAM worth a damn. I got a better deal on an external so I returned the internal, and this one works far better on DVD-RAM. In both cases the Firmware (either stock or Liggy’s 1.07BT) didn’t make a difference.
IOW, it might be that particular drive- try exchanging, if you can.
I’ve no probs so far with Pana discs, this brand was one of the first two recommended by NEC
