As instructed in the manual, I've connected my Sky box to AV2 on my Panasonic DMR-ES20D, and I've connected the Panasonic's AV1 to AV1 on my TV. I presumed this would allow me to record either Freeview (from the Panasonic's built-in receiver) or record from the Sky box. I presumed it would also allow me to record from Freeview whilst watching a different channel on my Sky box.
Whilst I'm watching Freeview, I can switch on the Sky box and the picture changes to Sky automatically - GREAT!
HOWEVER - when I'm recording from Freeview, if I try to switch on my Sky box, it stays on Freeview. And if I try to use the Panasonic's 'Input Select' to manually switch to AV2 and watch the Sky picture, I just get the 'No Entry' (i.e. invalid operation) symbol appearing on the screen, the same as I get when recording a Freeview channel and trying to switch to another Freeview channel.
So for the time being I've got my Sky box connected directly to the AV2 input on my TV, and everything seems OK now - except, of course, I now can't record from my Sky box (but at least I can watch a different channel whislt recording from FreevieW).
Is my problem something to do with the AV2 settings in the Panasonic's setup menu? How should I set them to achieve what I want to do (presuming what I want to do is actually possible!)
Thanks for your help.
