Wonder what price this will cost in U.S. dollars. Also the price of single layer B-R discs are still $20 a piece, I couldn’t imagine what a double layer would cost.

It can only get cheaper by the year from here on out.

CPUSlayer worte: Also the price of single layer B-R discs are still $20 a piece, I couldn’t imagine what a double layer would cost.

You need to get out more. Ritek 2x BD-R is $6 at rima.com. Frys.com is selling Panasonic 4x BD-R for $9.99 since many months ago. You can get cheaper rates from ebay!

Anyway, I doubt the price will go more than it used to be last year ($1000 for a 4x BD-R burner). The LG GBW-H20L 6x burner is $280 now. My guess, this Panasonic 8x burner will be hovering around $300-ish.

@blue - he saw that price and he didnt want to go out anymore!

$20 might be for the Sony branded BD-R’s. Other brands are less. I think the player will be about US$300 at introduction.
