Is there any advantage to using OWS utility with this drive if I regularly burn dvds at 8x and CDs at 24x? I don't need to go any faster, just wondering if there would be an advantage.
As far as I have encountered, the Optimal Write Software does nothing besides set 16x discs to write at 8x. Seems a bit useless to me.
Perhaps reviewing the CDRinfo’s operational test of the Pioneer DVR-116 Optimal Writing Speed Technology Drive Utility (OWS) will provide detailed information so you can make your own determination if the OWS utility meets your own personal needs ->
