How can I overburn data? I’ve overburned music but can’t overburn data with NERO on my 870mb/90min CDR. I have a SANYO 16x10x40 (BP1400P) and LiteOn 24x10x40.
To use overburn in NERO do the following :
Go to File/preferences then choose the “expert features” tab.
There you will be able to enable overburn feature for Disc at Once burning and to enter how many min. you want to overburn !
However … Nero should be able to detect a 90 min CD-R so if you can’t burn more than 80 min on them, try burning with “disc at once” instead of “track at once”.
Audio CD’s normally use Disc at Once which might explain why you can overburn Audio Disc’s but not data disc’s which normally use track at once burning in Nero !
And as stated elsewhere … the Lite-ON will do 99 min CD-R’s
WinOnCD can also overburn data

No it won’t! ( at least not always my friend )
I’ve got Nero 22.214.171.124 and a Plewtor 16\10\40a with firmware 1.004
And it doesn’t detect my Platinum 800mb\90min cd-r’s so…
So is it the media or firmware/cdr that’s causing nero not to recognize the oversized CD?
Did you manage to burn up to 89:59 (the max for Plextors) minutes of music on the disc with Nero? Or just about 82 minutes?
