All in all, not too bad for such cheap media - 16¢/disc, 3.66¢/GiB. A little bit better at 6x than 8x overall and probably will get worse at higher speeds. Also a bit better with newer drives than older ones (iHAS124F was an interestingly strong performer here) which I guess makes sense, being newish media and all. The inkjet printable versions aren’t much more expensive than these, too, though it wouldn’t be quite such a bargain. Pretty damn good in comparison to some of the other very marginal media (Moser Baer, Ritek) in this price range.

I´m still not sure why some media reacts sensitive on the scan-speed.

Same disc like above, Scanned in one of my other Benq 1640. Maybe the other Benq I made last scan is a bit defective?

Could you post the serial and hub numbers? I am trying to figure out the OEM producer of these Piodata media.

Begin of dye (outer ring): OPTODISC S160102V
Inner: MFP 130UF0312165 7 (very hard to read, not sure)

That’s very similar to CMC Magnetics’ serial numbering system. It seems that they are the OEM of all current Optodisc DVDR media.

I thought Optodisc are made by

Well, don´t have actual CMC -R, I remember AM3 weren´t bad, but the results I have with Optodisc -R are good

BD-Rs are made by Amethystum Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. Or at least had been for a long time.

The Piodata are my only 16x with this ATIP, so I don´t had a chance to compare.

Do you have serial and hub numbers of other Optodisc?

Here is the example of the original Optodisc DVD´s stamper and serial numbers:
OTC+R88231NB OR8 0512 +R 1~8X (stamper code)
LR20+8A0504132006 (serial number)

Sounds completely different to my Piodatas
