There are only two types of DL media that we recommend on these forums. By far the easiest to get are the Verbatim DL +R disks. They have proved themselves to be the gold standard of double layer media.
The other ones you might try are made by FTI and sold under the Falcon brand. But personally, I see no reason to use them while Verbatim disks are readily available.
As I see it, your problems lie in your choice of media. Though Lite-on drives have never been regarded as outstanding when burning DL disks. If you'd like to try another drive, I'd look at the Optiarc 7260s. But the blank disks you are using are not reliable.
