Optiarc BC-5500S has stopped working

[qanda]This question is published in the hardware section for the Optiarc BC-5500S. Click here to view full specs.[/qanda]When I go into the device manager, this is the message displayed for the CD/DVD player/burner: “Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)” I have tried updating the drivers, and the check for solutions options, but nothing is working. Any advice or help out there? Thanks!

Delete the drive entry in Device Manager and reboot. It will re-detect your drive so don’t worry.

If it doesn’t help, delete Upper and Lower Filter in your registry following this instruction.

Faster way to delete Upper and Lower Filter is by using ImgBurn. Load ImgBurn > Tools > Filter Driver Load Order. If your not sure which to delete, Copy to Clipboard and paste here in your next post.
