Is there something you find odd? Looks okay to me.

I suppose I’m just not used to reading these things. The TRT looks sporadic but when I scan on my LG Blu Ray drive, it’s smooth all the way through.

Ahh, understood. It’s just a little twitchy, but that can happen with certain controller/driver/operating system/optical drive combinations, or if some moderately heavy background activity is occurring. (The software is quite sensitive to disruptions, from what I remember). If there were deeper divots showing that the drive had to slow down for a portion of the disc, however, then things would be cause for concern.

Just in case you are ever in doubt, it may help to also read the disc you’re questioning with the LG. Two opinions can’t hurt.

Here is another scan, burned at 8x

And here is one from a batch I’m sending back to Amazon that had a few catastrophic failures at the end of some discs. Also at 8x. Should I keep the new batch (above post) or deal with the random failures but better results from the old (below)?

If you have complete burn failures that you know are a direct result of the batch of discs, return the discs.

That looks fine, given that you are using the Optiarc itself to scan (while most others use a supported BenQ, Plextor, or MediaTek-based LiteOn drive to scan, making it hard to get a direct comparison).

#292

Look at post #280 if I scanned it with the Optiarc AD 7260S it would look worse than your scan. So like Albert sad you need 2 scan it with a BenQ, Plextor, or MediaTek-based LiteOn drive.
