Hi, found this site from a bit of googling and it seems you lot will know the answers to my questions. sorry if its in the wrong section but wasnt sure if its software related or hardware
I have quite a large collection of vinyl records that i have been recording onto my pc for about 3 years now, after some hard drive failures i decided to seek a more secure archival method and purchased a blu ray writer. as most manufacturers claim long life discs i just thought this was the way to go but after reading lots of stuff online this seems not to be the case with some discs, so i thought i would try to scan my discs to see any errors etc, anyway with trial version of opti drive control 1.7 i do a disc quality scan and after 4 hours it has only progressed about 5 percent. Is the normal for it to take this long?
also what discs are the most reliable and best for archiving, i dont mind how much they cost as long as they are good
the discs i have been using are the Verbatim BD-R not the LTH type burning them on a liteon iHBS312
