One LTR-32123S is faster then the other

I have 2 LTR-32123S Drive and one is faster then the other. I have the same firmware on both drives and used the same Blank CD. One was taken out and the other put in so everything it the same. Drive 1 takes 3:45 to burn 700MB and drive 2 takes 3:59 to burn the same 700MB. Anybody got a clue why one is faster?
Thanks

This is what I got from CD Speed.

That’s quite normal, there may be a difference of up to as much as 0,1X between drives.

The most “extreme” case is two LTR-40125S drives I saw, one hit 39,98X at the end and the other hit 40,11X. In total it was enough to give a few seconds difference to the total write time.

But even if there was this small difference there was no noticeable difference in quality between the created discs.

I don’t think you need to worry at all.

Thanks. I feel better knowing I’m not the only one to see this.
Just thought it was wierd how one was faster then the other.
Both make perfect discs

The cause of this “problem” might be that your HDD was a bit slower/faster in one case, or that your antivirus decided to do a search, or you got a power fluctuation, or the moon was not in exact orbit… Lots of reasons…
