On DVDFAB (HDD)should the target be ISO

There is an icon to the right of the target field which I think represents an iso file… When using HDD should you use this to create an iso or should you not select it and just use the regular target which happens to be my desktop

I just use full rip (Dvd9), save it to my storage drive into a folder I have created with the movie name, output is AUDIO/VIDEO_TS. When I have finished what I normally do, I end up with an ISO, to burn with ImgBurn. My process is in Posts #67 to #74, but please also read Post #78.

The functionality of .ISO in Fab freeware has been recently altered by Fengtao. I have no way to check this since I own the retail app Platinum and no longer have access to the freeware app, but I hear it no longer outputs to .ISO.

Personally, I would do as beef does and output to VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS Folders.
Why bother with .ISO? Do you have some particular need for an .ISO file?

the only reason i need iso is that this is the extension that roxio uses to burn

Check out the link, it will show you an alternative. It’s for movie only plus 5.1, but I think you can figure out what you have to do if you wish the full Dvd.

How do you end up with an Iso file… I know you get the VOB and the IFO. Is an ISO also created during the Audio/Video_TS process.

Look through what I gave you, it will answer your question & then read Post #78 to understand why I can’t answer it in this DvdFab Sub Forum.

I read post 78 amd I understand…However, I cannot find an appropriate forum for dvdshrink… any suggestions

Maybe here.

I read 67-74… You did a GREAT job… Would you be kind enough to answer two questions for me.

1)What is the purpose of FIXVTS

2)could you describe what the “backup target” is compared with the Target image file… I understand that you always select the iso backup…but what actually does “backup” mean. And the target image file I assume is where the decrypted movie is actually going to go

If you ask those questions in another Forum, like the one I gave a link to, I or somebody else will be glad to answer them, but not here. Click that link & you are in the Copy Movie main Forum, scroll down until you see start new thread.
