I have a stock Apple Power Macintosh 7500/100.
MacOS 8.1.
Hoping to burn CDs of hard disk contents before converting ot to Linux.
I purchased Adaptec (before Roxio) Toast v3.5.X.
I own a Yamaha CRW8824, flashed to latest firmware.
The Adaptec software only works with model CRW8424, has a special file for this model drive, called “CRW8424”.
Does anyone know where I can download the proper file for the CRW8824?
According to Roxio’s Website they do not longer support Toast 3 , but have upgraded to Toast 5 or 6.
I’m afraid you have got an OEM version of Toast that is exclusively for the original writer it came bundled with.
Sorta like when you purchase a new cd-writer for your windows machine and get Nero with it , only to discover it only works with that particular drive.

Yeah, I knew that this was old software. I was thinking more along the lines of maybe someone knows about a driver site like driverguide (which does not have the file).
I might know where, have to search through my bookmarks. email me and I’ll let you know.
