Ok what is best audio reader for audio protection cds?

I have my first copy protected cd (a Universal records release)
I have a Liteon, but my copy skips on the 9th track. So I copied it using a multriread profile (from clone cd) Will going to audio cd read profile work better? If not what reader right now will read any audio protected cd? Are the plextor cd roms the only ones or will Toshibas read anyhting as well?

Plextor drives (especially the UltraPlex PX-40TS) are in fact one of the best readers for audio copy protected CDs.
But like Upp3rd0G said, there is a protection, where this drive fails, too. Look @ http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?threadid=46398

I don’t know, how good Toshiba drives are in reading audio protections, but all I can say is, that the Toshiba SD-M1402 definately fails, if the lead-out TOC entry is wrong. This is used by Data Cactus Shield, as far as I know.

what’s good thatt’s ide?

Plextor 40/12/40 CDRW IDE :stuck_out_tongue:

Afaik there is no ultimate audio cd-reader… :frowning: The best reader around (too my knowledge) is the UltraPlex Px-40ts, but this baby also won’t read all protections… apparently it won’t read MediaCloq (aka Doc.loc) protected audio cd’s. This protection is hardly used here in Europe, so I don’t have any first hand experience with it…

If you just consider Key2Audio and Cactus Data Shield: go for the Ultraplex!

Maybe, Plextor will fix this MediaCloq issue with a firmware update (for PX-40TS), like they did with wrong TOCs.

I copied a cd protected with K2Audio reading it with
TOSHIBA SD-M1502 (second attempt).
