OK, I was under the impression that the 2500A had to be flashed in DOS for it to work. I wasn’t thinking correctly and flashed it in windows, and the firmware went from 1.06 to 1.07b5. Is this something rare, or is the 2500A not the one that has to be flashed in DOS?
I’ve always flashed with the windows flasher (I think almost a dozen times), although DOS is supposed to be safer. I downloaded the DOS stuff just in case I ever run into any problems.
Only drives that are recognized as something OTHER than ND-2500A such as OEM’s like those from TDK or HP need to be flashed in DOS. The Windows Flash tool looks for ND-2500A drives to flash.
out of curiosity, did you not want to upgrade from 1.06 to 1.07b5???
if you did, it seems that everything went well. so what is there to be confused about?
I was confused because I thought I read something here about only flashing the 2500A in DOS, the windows flasher wouldnt recognise the drive. Meh, whatever, worked out fine in the end.
