Not that I’m against file sharing, but Oink ran their own tracker, which means they facilitating the trade of copyrighted works?

I guess its the users sharing the files though… not oink selling them…

pretty surprised at the ruling. The pirate bay lawsuit seemed more frivilous then this one, and the biased judge ruled against them.

Both Sweden and the UK have similar justice systems, however it is the interpretation that may differ!
Also perhaps in this case there was insufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt, as against on the balance of probability. Two different standards of proof.

I don’t see how a torrent tracker is any different than email. Both are communication methods, the communication of the information is completely controlled by the user, not the owner of the system. Information wants to be free. :slight_smile:
