Official Liteon V6S02 firmware

Thanks to BoSkin for the firmware. It will be available at Dyzan’s homepage soon. Don’t mistaken too I’m not the winner for the contest. Just for reference below.

Cool

Thx BoSkin

Ummm, it’s probably just modified Memorexx firmware… (I shoulda done this  )

On the other hand, the Memorexx firmware is modified Lite-ON firmware so…

I’m interested in upgrading my Memorexx 48Maxx (now with the Memorexx 52Maxx firmware) to this Lite-On firmware so I can firmware updates faster from Lite-On.

Thing is, what is with the dips in speed? Two dips in speed at 24 and 64 minutes.

With the Memorexx I get a straight line from 0 - 80 all the way up to 52x.

Anyone tried this Lite-On 52x firmware? Care to share your speed tests?

That’s more correct !

He may not have have used a full 80 minute cd. Here is what I get when running Nero CD Speed on a cd that’s almost full with nothing but MP3’s (gives a smooth CAV line no dips) using Lite-On’s 6s02 FW on my TDK4800B:
Operating System Windows 98 SE
Drive LITE-ON LTR-52246S
Firmware Version 6S02
Serial Number
Disc Data CD
Capacity 79:25.42

Transfer Rate

Start 23.91x
End 52.32x
Average 39.64x
Type CAV

Cryos:)

I got a straight line using the Liteon 52x firmware but it only got to 51+ as the top speed. In CloneCd though it burned MOHAA in 2 minutes 19 seconds.

Ummm, it’s probably just modified Memorexx firmware… (I shoulda done this )

Gee, I wonder…

So does this mean that this thread’s title is false? Is this really not official 6S02 Liteon FW, but rather modded OEM 6WS2 Memorex FW…?

BTW, the ?s are rhetorical…

I also went from TDK 48X to Lite-on 52X and the max burning speed I’ve been able to achieve so far is 51.59X (almost 1X lower than what Cryos has seen) using the latest version of Nero on Windows XP. Here are my results for 2 different tests using CD Speed (using TDK 40X cd-r’s):

Write Transfer Rate test 1

Write Mode DAO
Start 23.54x
End 51.57x
Average 39.05x
Time 2:32
Type CAV

Write Transfer Rate test 2

Write Mode DAO
Start 23.59x
End 51.59x
Average 39.28x
Time 2:38
Type CAV

What type of media did you use, Cryos?

Yes it’s already exists on my webpage. And also 1S05.

6S01 & 6S02 are the same. Both are 6WS2 from Memorex…
