Another drawback of Office 2013 - Outlook does not work at all with Exchange 2003.
A colleague at work got a new Ultrabook, which worked well with the Office 2010 trial version. Once the trial ran out, he purchased Office and was given the 2013 version, which then I helped install for him. It gave a nice greeting saying something like "You'll love this version of office" with a happy face. Then came a bong sound, followed by a message saying that Outlook cannot launch as Exchange 2003 is not supported.
I tried a quick search for a workaround, but there were countless discussions about this issue, all with messages like "It's time to move on, upgrade your Exchange server!" as the solution, which wouldn't surprise me is a likely someone from Microsoft posing as a helper posting this message in every thread about this problem. In the end, I just installed his previous version of Outlook 2003 and set up a new profile, which seems to work fine, even opening Word/Excel 2013 attachments.
