This looks like one more sign an average SSD is going to cost US$0.5 per GB in half a year. That makes a next-generation iPad, or an iPad rival, with 1TB storage for under US$1,000.
The 128GB ones have hit $.50 from time to time. This is unusual for a bigger one like this.
I hope OlyT’s gonna spring for a bakers’ dozen for each of us… sure would be nice-!!
Nice price on a 256GB drive. Thanks
Yeah, that’s only a little more than I paid for a 60GB Agility 3 when it first came out…
I still use some of these Mtron drives. The 7500 series was meant for servers, but some like me felt a 64GB or 128GB 7035 offered better value in terms of performance and space for the same cost than SCSI HDD. The 64GB 7035 price was a little over US$1,000 and it was much better than Mtron’s previous generations. That was when DDR 2 and DDR 3 RAM chips were ten to twenty times more expensive than today.
