sorry i know its a lot of info and may not be neccasary but im a noob at this and dont really know what i should be posting up im using infiniti 360 discs which have worked before hand
thx in advance for any advice

I have some of those Infiniti DL discs you’re using, and to be honest it’s hit or miss whether they’ll burn (my LG drive won’t even burn them, though my LiteOn and Samsung drives will).

Does this happen with single layer media as well? Really the only DL worth using is Verbatim IMO.

#3

i have burnt cd’s dvd’s without problem i tried a ridisc yesterday and it got to 100% and couldnt verify the disc and would not work might be a silly one but i have a 40 pin ide to my hd would this make a difference should it be 80 too?

what exactly does this log mean i dont really understand as im new to this

#4

Yeah, I’d swap the HDD’s cable out for an 80 conductor one as well - certainly won’t hurt.

Ridisc aren’t the best media either, and Pioneers can be fussy readers sometimes.

The burn above seems to be failing at the layer break, which is where I had problems with my Infiniti DLs.

The fact that, aside from the Ridisc you mentioned, you can burn single layer media successfully, makes me think it’s the media, however someone may stop by with other helpful suggestions

The log above is just showing the errors the program has come across when writing.

#5

hey thx for the reply very helpful and before this is shut down id just like to say i do own the original i am aware of copyright laws :0

#6

Please stop asking about burning ILLEGAL obtained copyright material.

#7

That doesn’t give you the rights to use a copy of it from somewhere.
That rles apply to any country, AFAIK.

#8

Yup, you got my help because I didn’t spot that in the log.

In future, you’re better off re-reading the forum rules, and backing up from your original instead.

#9

ok point taken but even if i do backup my original , the problem is still present

Realy, he easily coud have changed the label in the logfile , or the volume size in sectors or only showing the info past the “write lead-in” (the most important piece of logg) and nobody woud have noticed. Wot he burns is totaly up to him and beside the question to me!!

@hunt

Never Ever buy that crap again!!!

Have had the same brands and they fail time and time again in my liteon 20A1P but do burn well and finalize in both my samsungs 203N and 203P up to 8x but when verifying that same disc i get unrecovered read errors at proximate 70 - 80 % = second layer mostly!!!

So D-I-T-C-H it if i were u , or use it only to test doubtfull games u nevver want to play again lol.

I noticed ! so… i felt like to finish this thread because iam more then ever before convinced ( if some one still read this) that poeple should get rid of such a crappy discs or rather never BUY it to begin whit in the first place .

And on a side note, most among us suggest to use verbatim DL’s!!, but they always forget to mention (if they are aware of this that is) that the 8x variant (mkm003) produces much MUCH LESS WRITE ERRORS burning even at 4x then its lil 2,4x mkm001 sister burning at marely 2,4 = certified speed!

Depends on the drive, firmware, media and strats used.

Yes ofcourse, those mkm003 will garanteed outperform those 2,4x mkm001 in any way better on new generation Burners i meant to say.

Still, i have still my old nec-3500AG. And Burns made using 8x certified verbats burning at max 4x (drive speed limitations) seems to have less errors compared to 2,4x verbatims burned at 2,4x.

At least thats as far i can tell from my experience, and wot ive read accros the net!

In which drive did you perform a Qscan?
