It’s an often heard negative of Windows Phone, the number of popular apps is far behind iOS or Android. More popular apps make a mobile operating system more attractive to users. The Windows 10 Phone Store now sees a lot of new apps, but a large number is fake.

The process of cleaning out fake apps is made more difficult by the fact that some popular apps (e.g. YouTube, Instagram, etc) are either not available by the original developers on the Windows store, or are of low quality, and there are 3rd party apps which are of superior quality, and we do not want to lose them.
