Nu DVD Burner - CRC/DMA Error

[qanda]This thread is about the Nu Tech DDW-082. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]I’ve recently been experiencing problems with my Nu DDW-082 burner - I just upgraded to a new CPU & Motherboard when the problem started ( Biostar K8M800 & AMD AM2 4800+).

I read through many of the posts with the same issue and tried most of the fixes - switching PIO/DMA, deleting IDE devices, switching to master/slave/cs, different media, downgrading & upgrading firmware, blowing off the lens, reinstalling Nero, etc… I’m not really sure what else to try - I’m assuming it has something to do with the recent cpu & motherboard upgrade - although I couldn’t find any specific problems online. I’m posting a recent error log from Nero if that is any help.

I’m trying an updated version of Nero now to see if it might be the older software that is causing the problem - hopefully this will be the cause.

Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions.

-Jamie

Welcome to the forum

First thing I’d try is a fresh IDE cable - that error often comes up when there’s a problem with the existing one.

#3

Thanks for the info - I’ll pick up a new one and swap it out - lets hope it’s that!

Thanks again,

Jamie

#4

Let’s hope so indeed - good luck!

#5

Seems to be working now, changed the cable - but also burned with updated Nero - I’ll try again on older version of Nero for process of elimination, but I’m thinking it’s either a bad cable or possibly bad IDE connector on my motherboard… Little more testing to narrow down.

Thanks again for your help Arachne!

#6

Chances are it’ll be the cable (hopefully, as it’s better than the mobo being dodgy!) - you’re welcome BTW
