CD Freaks does not only bring news, we also feel that the community spirit of our site is important and Club CD Freaks, our community part, is the largest CD and DVD community in the world and rapidly growing. A few days ago we upgraded our boards to new software which will give us the opportunity to enable more functionallity to our members. But we did not only change the looks, we also added two more new forums recently. Both forums complement the subjects we cover and are:
- The Standalone Devices and Home Entertainment System Forum
- Satellite, HD-TV, Blu-Ray and HD-DVD Forum
In the Standalone Devices and Home Entertainment System Forum we hope to host discussions on devices such as the X-Box, PlayStation, standalone DivX players, DVD players, DVD-VR's and of course home entertainment systems. As we have many experts around on DVD recording they will be easily able to give support on these devices as well.
The second forum is a bit more futuristic. As we all know there will be a follow up for the DVD with more data capacity in a couple of years and there are already devices on the market that are able to record and playback these discs. The killer application (the reason why more space is needed) will probably be High Definition TeleVision (HD-TV) broadcasted by sattelites and later on also using other excisting infrastructure.
Because
we know there are always people around that are early adopters we have setup this forum so they have a place to discuss their problems. Of course we also have our own satellite expert on board to help out who has put up some articles to get you going!
