No sound after insalling LG GGC-H20L

[qanda]This thread is about the LG GGC-H20L. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]Hi everyone,
I just installed an LG HD / Blu-Ray dvd ( model : GGC-H20L) reader in my pc. Everything worked well in terms of installation except that now I am not recieving any sound whatsoever from windows. I looked if there was a driver or hardware incompability but found no warning on that matter.

I’m running XP SP3 on
Core 2 Quad 2.80
4 Go RAM
Nvidia motherboard 680i SLI
2X Nforce 8600 GT in SLI mode

I’m not using SPDIF but rather the analog plugs in the back of th motherboard…

Can somebody help me with this annoying problem?

Start->Settings->Control Panel->Sounds & Audio Devices->

On the Volume, check that it;s not muted, that you have the icon in the taskbar & that the master volume is set to a decent level (50-80%).
Click advance, ensure that Wave output is set to a decent level (50-80%).

At the top-> Audio (TAB).
Ensure that the Default Output Device is set to the correct sound card.

Thanks for the help,

I finally uninstalled the sound cart and reinstalled the drivers… Finally works! Thanks Debro!

How did u get this Drive to work, mine keeps locking up the PC - I installed the software supplied on the CD using another DVD drive (IDE) and then windows recognised it.

If u can advise anything u did it will help!

What do you mean by " locking up the pc"?

The whole pc freezes…its something to do with the drive compatability.
I read this happens on XP too. Something with Chipsets.

Have u got urs to work? I use my media center without the drive fine.
