I’ve been using CopyToDVD (version 3.0.54.106) since December with great success. My burner (purchased in December, too) is a Pioneer A00 or 100 (I forget) that’s been flashed to think it’s a Piodata. The past week, I’ve been having problems copying from a source DVD to a new DVD. I’ve cleaned the laser lens ~three times and always use brand name DVDs (Memorex, Fuji, Sony, etc.) I can copy the source DVD to a hard drive with no problem. But if I either try to copy directly from the source DVD to a blank DVD or from the video_ts folder to a blank DVD, it burns for a while then crashes. The error is “Write error at 1024784 (16) No Sense Information”. Here’s the error log from the latest coaster:

Hi there,

When having problems, I always test burning at 2x.

Wow, you are burning at 12x, slow it down a little and see if you get better results.

When dealing with VideoDVD, unless you have the best media (Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim Datalife) most of us on www.afterdawn.com suggest not to burn VideoDVD higher than 4x because you will/might have video playback issues.

Freezing and Skipping on playback.

Ritek usually have a good reputation, but like I said, try 2x or 4x burning 1st !

VSO CopyToDVD v3.0.56 or v3.0.57 is also available (Forget what the website says) Downloading it get’s you the latest version.

Then burn one at 2x or 4x and see if it helps.

Have you had issues always, since you CrossFlashed your drive ?
CrossFlashing a drive is not always 100% (So I have heard, never done it).

Also, make sure your burner is in DMA mode, not PIO mode:

Hey, THANKS!!! AFAIK, since Dec, no changes to drive or software and I’ve copied @300 DVDs. But your suggestion WORKED!!! I set the write speed to 2x & the three DVDs (stored on hard drive) that I couldn’t burn before, burned PERFECTLY!!! Plus, an additional problematic two were able to be copied as well. THANKS!!!
