"No Seek Complete" Error & LG HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GMA-4082N not recognizing DVD's

Hi,

I own a hp compaq nx6125 notebook and it has a LG HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GMA-4082N Slimdrive. Today I was trying to burn a new DVD-R. Before using Nero 8 everything was going perfect. My drive was recognizing & reading DVD’s and I also burned some CD’s yesterday. Today, I installed DVD Identifier v5.0.1 and checked my blank DVD-R for it’s manufacturer information. It reported correct information. Then I started Nero Burning ROM (v8.1.1.0) and created a new ISO (No Multisession). When I started burning DVD, my drive stopped and Nero gave “No Seek Complete” Error and reported that Burn Process had failed .:a I was confused as I had never seen such an error before. Then I inserted a new blank DVD-R and here’s where problem started. The drive failed to recognize DVD’s. I tried with blank DVD’s of other brand but it would not recognize. After that it even failed to read any DVD’s previously burned by this recorder and whenever I insert any DVD Windows Pops Error message : Incorrect Function. However, the drive is reading and burning CD’s perfectly and problem only occurs when I insert a DVD. I also tried to flash the drive with other firmwares but it failed to read DVD’s with other firmwares also. Please suggest a solution. Here are the DiscInfo and Nero Error Log:

I am totally clueless that why is this happening. It’s reading CD’s perfectly but does not recognize DVD’s even though it is DVD burner. Please Help!:sad:

 I think I have started this thread at a wrong place. Moderators would you please move this thread to appropriate place (maybe LG Burners or Optical Storage Technical Discussions). Please!

Since nobody has replied yet, for informational purposes my drive is actually dead nd I had to buy a new one… Beware of flashing with unofficial BIOS… It may lead to half broken drive (Still reads CD’s) like mine…

Uninstall the virtual drive software, restart, try again.
