Heres what happened when I got my Plextor-PX708A just a couple of months ago. Bought 100 DVD+R 4X brand Ricoh, in 5 disc packages.
First 10 burned at 4x seemed okay so I continued burning successfully discs and didn't verify any of them at the time. 40 discs and some days later I found out many of them to be unreadable. A closer look at the media shows strange marks, like small cuts around the outer edge and the dye/readsurface has dark spots running from center to the outer edge.
Errors are mainly to appear in the middle and at the end of the disc or/and the menu . Btw..this is so my first post so hi ya'll!
I toasted about 70 bastards and only 27 of 70 passed the test. Rest of'em had lots of bad sectors although some of them readable anyway.
Now, my guess is there will be no problem to exchange the new empty 30discs I still have left, but whatabout the burned dvd+r with this same defect as described above? Am I entitled to any compensation or substitute..otherwise, it would be a big waste of space, money and time. Yes indeed!
Greetings coming at ya
