They are RICOHJPN D01, which burning strategy would have the best chance? Thanks.
I’ve got a 5-pack of these I bought at Circuit City. They show up as the RicohJPN D01, as above.
Tried an ISO-to-ISO copy, using DVD Decrypter Ver. 184.108.40.206, and got errors at the very beginning of the write cycle–never got to write a disc and try to play it, as near as I can tell. Though DVD Decrypter log said something about “writing lead-in”, I can’t confirm that anything was written to the disc. It shows as empty in two different PC DVD drives.
Using Windows XP, SP2, on custom-built MSI/AMD system, DVD drive is NEC ND-3500AG, Firmware 2.1A.
Other system is an HP Pavilion Laptop, DV9730US, running either Vista Home Premium, or XP, SP2 (dual-boot setup), with Pioneer DVD RW DVD-K17B (firmware version not identified).
Put the allegedly empty disc in a Philips DVDR 615 free-standing DVD recorder, and it spit it right back out–no message of any sort. Put it in my Toshiba HD-A3, and got a message on the screen “Disc is not DVD format. Cannot play disc.” So, there’s a chance that SOMETHING got written to it by DVD Decrypter. But, when I try to copy THAT disc in Cyberlink’s DVD Suite (in Vista) on the laptop, that software says the DVD is empty. So, who knows?
Anyway, think I’ll take these back to CC, and order a small supply of Verbatim’s. Don’t really have a crying need for DL; just thought I’d play around a bit.
