Why are Memorex dvds so popular with B&M’s to put “on sale” as of late?
I’ve heard NOTHING GOOD about the media +r or -r’s…

because only half the spindle will work, and they keep you coming back for more :stuck_out_tongue: thinkin’ U got a bad batch:eek:

p.s.NEVER buy the Memorex CD’s they are transparent and your burner won’t be able to read the blank disc

The main reason Memorex is on sale is the stores aren’t carrying much more than TDK and Memorex brands anymore. If you’ll notice, most of the B&M stores have scaled back their selection of media. Fry’s is one store that still offers a wide selection of brands.

Well, garbage in… garbage out…
In reality, unless one is recording on archival media and slowr than 16x speeds… the best regular grade media has a halflife of about 2-5 years depeding upon how stable the storage conditions are (temperature & humidity, and any contamination of the record layer as examples). I still trust verbatim ore than tdk & memorex.

Also, it just goes to show that if the iddiots (B&Ms) keep purchasing inferior products and they get to keep their prices high which effects competition. At least they should cycle what they buy if they could get a better deal on it from time to time. Best Buy still carriers verbatims… btw, not the best prices… but that’s where I got my last 50pk.
