I think I’ll try those Walgreens 20 PACK Maxell CDRs. Rumor has it they are TY media.
TY media is not easily purchased locally anymore, unless purchased i n bulk. CMC Magnetics appears to have a lock on the market.

They seem to dominate all the brands.

Yeah, probably because CMC are the lowest bidder. If they are TY it should say Made in Japan on the package. Should be easy to tell before you buy.

The prices at OfficeMax don’t seem too impressive. I wouldn’t call those sale prices.

Yes, in my experience the 20-pack Maxell CD-Rs with slim jewel cases are TYs, and it says “Made in Japan” in the back of the package. Staples used to have Maxell Pro that were also MIJ TYs, but they have disappeared. Recently Walgreens has a 10-pack Maxell Pro CD-Rs with slim jewel cases , also MIJ TYs.

I picked some up yestsrday, they are TY media.
The only drawback is the flimsy slim jewel cases. I was hoping for standard cases.
