Are the DVD-R Maxells still made by Ritek? Been a while since I’ve purchased them, but I remember those and Office Depot blanks being Ritek.

As always, mucho appreciated!

Thanks Dalen,

Some people have reported that the 100-pack of 16x DVD-R Maxells is now sometimes Taiyo Yuden (TYG03 media code). Maxell used to be a mix of Taiyo Yuden and Ritek in the 8x days, then became completely Ritek with the switch to 16x (this only applies to North America, because in Europe, they were still able to buy TY-made Maxells). It seems that they have once again started selling some TY under the Maxell label here.

I do remember TY Maxells, but I only managed to grab them a couple times before the Ritek switch. I’ll have to keep an eye out locally for any Made in Japan 100 packs of Maxell DVD-Rs.

Thanks for the heads up.
