Amazing!! Thanks for the incredibly early heads up’s. This is so CD-Freak-in awesome!!

#3

Thanks a ton. I was set to bite on the Best Buy Verbatim until I saw they had the picture for the 50 pack but were actually selling the 25 pack. They will get heat for that error!

#4

You are welcome, folks!

chas–I’ve never seen the verb movie reel discs sold in 25pack spindles. They were always packaged in a 50pack spindle; they just add foam spacers to the bottom of the 25 discs. Why verb does not use the 25pack spindle is a mystery to me.

#5

Same here in Seattle. Maybe the extra packaging is reflected in the retail price or they just got a helluva deal on 50 pack spindle packaging.

#6

So what do people feel about the movie reel disks? Are they of high quality? Do people like the face cover?

#7

some one correct me if i’m wrong, but aren’t all of the movie reel blanks 4x media ???

#8

I have never seen 8x movie reel discs but I guess its possible.

#9

The movie reel discs are 4x and are of great quality.

I’ve used both the Moser Baer DVD-R and the CMC Mag produced Verbatims and both gave great results!

$9.99 is a good price for these. I like the look of these discs!

#10

All of the Digital Movie Verbatims for the US market, from what I’ve seen, are made by Prodisc, aside from the three packs of DVD+Rs in those “Super” DVD cases, which are made in Singapore(!) by MKM itself.

#11

Rite-Aid has the 50 spindle of Fuji CDR for $10 again.

I’ve been lucky in the past and been able to find MIJ Tayo-Yuden there. YMMV.

#12

I think I need to try some of the movie reel discs - I’ll check Best Buy Monday! Thanks!

I went to Circuit City Purchased a 25 pk of the TDK DVD-R label says made in Taiwan. I also got a 50 pk of the TDK CD-R label says made in India.

I burned a CD at each of the Speeds avalible in NERO 48, 40, 32, 24, 16 and 12 non-are usable except inthe Computer.

Verbatim MCC 002 4x rated Digital Movie Discs in 25 pack at Best Buy, Prodisc produced made in Taiwan. Burned at 8x, WOPC on.

#15

What’s WOPC?

#16

WOPC - (Walking Optimal Power Control) is an algorithm which evaluates the writing quality constantly and adjusts the writing power accordingly in order to ensure the best possible writing quality over the entire disc. It is a feature on BenQ drives that can either turned on or off.

I just picked me up a 50pack of MIJ Fuji at BB. I think I’m going back for another one tomorrow. I’m posting a scan in the NEC forum.
