A real newbie question I’m sure.. so I apologise in advance!
Is the advantage of creating DVD-ROM to allow you’re your disks to be played in any DVD player without having to determine whether they are DVD-R or DVD+R compatible? And are the resulting discs more reliable? I do share my disks around so this would be a great advantage for me. I have a 2500A drive and I have flashed in the official NEC firmware version 1.07. I use Nero version 184.108.40.206 and have DVDinfopro. Incidentally if I try change the default DVD+R to DVD-ROM it just says drive does not support bit setting. What steps do I have to take? I don’t mind purchasing the latest version of Nero, (or can I somehow just download and upgrade?). I am a little reluctant to flash in none official firmware (but I guess I will if I have to !) as the drive is only 2 weeks old. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
