Newbie first question

Hi guys, greetings from scotland.

You probably will be fed up answering this question but here goes.

I downloaded a DVDRIP.XviD (film)

In properties it says Type of file AVI Video (.avi)

Question is, what do I need to do so that I can play the film on my home DVD player? Do I need to convert it to any special format & what programs are best for converting / burning?

Cheers

Andy.

In the hope the download was legal, simply search avi to dvd convert. or now many DVD players will play avi and divx without problems.

There are quite a few threads here dealing with avi to dvd conversions, so a search here will give you a lot of answers. DVDFlick, AVStoDVD and FAVC are some free solutions to get from avi to dvd video format. ConvertXtoDVD is a commercial product for this.

You might also want to look through the conversion programs over at videohelp.com.
