I just got my dvd burner and have be looking at copy software when I came across this site http://www.top-dvd-copy-software.com . I downloaded 1ClickDVD and AnyDVD. I tried to burn Troy last night for a friend and all I got was a coster. Any help with a good setup would be great!
Don’t have any experience with 1Click. AnyDVD and CloneDVD should work if your optical drive is running in DMA mode and you are using quality media (made in Japan).
Reduce your burn speed to 2.4X. And post details about the problem. “Coasters” don’t mean squat.
try using one of the more common transcoding programs. there’s a poll stickied at the top of this forum.
I do not understand, when you say “coaster” you mean that the media has IO error when you play it, or that the movie is not playable, but no IO error? Or the movie looks bad?
You also did not say what burner you have, make and model# and firmware, and media code.
You also did not say if this burner worked before with other movies with good results,
It’s a Sony DWD22A 16X ( http://geek.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=3979848 ) unsure of media code and firmware…where do I look? I had used it to make a backup disk of my hard drive and it worked fine. Troy was the first movie I tried and it would play about 30 sec in my computer but not at all in my dvd player.
It’s possible the type of media you are using is not compatible with your DVD player.
Computer DVD players have greater compatibility as compared to stand alone DVD players.
You can check here for the type of media your DVD player may support.
The best way to back up movies is: DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink and the are free and will work great!!
