Indeed, sorry if I created any confusion with this, as I am the one who translated it. Unfortunately, the article I translated didn’t get any more specific as to whether or not the utility actually installs any new firmware or not. The only mention of firmware in the article was the line about it being “on board” the utility. It was, to say the least, vague. The only real insight I can offer is that the Japanese Pioneer website lists this “utility” - which they are very specific about - in a different section from firmware. Just give it about a week, I’m sure Pioneer USA will come out with something similar.
