Too bad. The first HDTV we bought was a Toshiba and it had a great picture and has been very reliable. Maybe they aren’t up for the inevitable transition to 4k units.

My first Toshiba TV was a 34HFX84 which was a 34" 16x9 HD CRT set. Paid 1225 in 2005 for it and it’s in my sisters room and still works today. Was the very LAST CRT set Toshiba made in the USA in their own factory here. Was and is a very nice looking set but small and heavy by todays standards and a power hog.
I have since been given a few Sony LED sets that surprisingly look very nice with great black levels and color so haven’t missed the Toshiba but don’t really want to just throw it out either.
They haven’t really made their own TV’s for years as they contracted out to Funai who also made or makes the Philips and Magnavox DVD recorders with hard drives that geeks like me used to buy when all the big boys bailed on the recorders.
