I have gotten phone calls recently saying they are from the IRS and I am about to be charged a big fine and to call this number. I figured it is one of those $$$$ a minute calls. If it were the IRS they would notify me by mail.

This scam doesn’t seem all that new to me. Fake customer support reps have been doing scams like this for years. Remember, people: if someone calls you to tell you they’ve magically detected a virus on your system, they’re probably lying. Hang up on them ASAP, and consider reporting their phone number to your local law enforcement authorities.

Ask for the Employee ID number and Phone number to call them back. That will stop them cold in their tracks.
