American chip manufacturer Qualcomm today announced the Snapdragon 820 mobile CPU that is able to detect malware and malicious apps using artificial intelligence. The CPU features a technology called Smart Protect that monitors app behavior in real time.

Is “malware” another term for “apps that they don’t want you to use?” I’ll bet this will make it difficult for users to unlock their phones. After all, rooting is essentially cracking the Operating System, which is what malware used to do.
