The help file has to be renamed to CDSpeed_eng.chm
The current manual is outdated but normally the new version should be finished next week.
thanx i will try that.
Still no go though
check your hhctrl.ocx, it’s updated in XP SP1
MJ’s Help Diagnostics
Download MJsDiag.zip
Version 2.1.26
MJ’s Diagnostics is a small utility that reports if all the HTML Help runtime DLLs are installed and registered correctly. If a DLL is not registered then it will ask if you want to register it. It also checks the RoboHelp DLL (HHActiveX.dll).
are we the only 2 who are experiencing this or is everyone having same issue?
thanx
FP,
I’ve checked it the required way, then downloaded and installed robohtml_extras.exe and run Mjsdiag again.
The CDSpeed help file’s still “out of order”. We’ll see what Erik could say about it.
Frankly, I don’t really care much about all those .hlp files and hardly ever use them.
Here are the check results :
File Found: C:\WINDOWS\System32\hhctrl.ocx
Version =
Registry Info:
ClassName = HHCtrl Object
InProcServer32 = C:\WINDOWS\System32\hhctrl.ocx
ProgID = Internet.HHCtrl.1

eHelp RoboHelp DLL - HHActiveX.dll
Registration Info:

InProcServer32 = C:\WINDOWS\HHActiveX.dll
ProgID = HHActiveX.HHComponentActivator.1
Dll Found and Registered = YES
Well, it works for me.
I think I know what causing the problem. You renamed ur CD speed exe to ‘CDSpeed 2.10.exe’ I think u should rename that too ‘CDSpeed’ without the exe.

Wrong. I didn’t rename the file but did get it directly from the author of the program the way it is.
Btw, which version of CDSpeed are you talking about ?
You can check/uncheck ‘Hide extensions for known file types’ in Tools > Folder Options > View > Advanced Settings. It doesn’t make any difference in practice.
I unchecked it quite deliberately just for the above picture sake.
Othewise the extensions are always hidden.
Im talkin bout the new one. Well it sucks to be you.
It sucks still more to not be me.
And if you read this thread carefully you’d find that
" The current manual is outdated but normally the new version should be finished next week. "
from erik in todays email response to me:
"Hello,
Please rename the help file to CDSpeed_eng.chm
The new updated help file will be available soon!
Best regards,
Erik"
it now works.

Yeah, it now does for me too.
I simply got another file from the site and replaced it with the one I rcvd by mail.
